Airbrushing at Daily Kos?

Imagine, if you will, the reaction among LGF’s admirers on the left if I started deleting topics and comments wholesale.

I’d caution Charles on this one, as someone who watches Daily Kos a great deal myself. Kos diarists have the ability to delete their own diaries, and when the diary is deleted, so are the comments attached to it. My bet is that this diarist came under such an immense assault from other Kossacks that he or she deleted the diary rather than deal with the onslaught. It’s highly unlikely that Kos or another admin at the site deleted it because of the subject matter, especially since there’s another diary on the subject over there right now (although it’s certainly not on their recommended diary list).

And it’s sickening. Secong diary today on this. The other one finally deleted because he daved (sic) under the weight of his own bullshit.

Not the exact reason the diarist “daved”, I’ll bet you, but nonetheless, he or she deleted his or her own diary, rather than it having been deleted by an admin.

Update2: It’s a small world after all. Turns out the current Soltz diary on DKos is by my friend Chuck at The Populist blog. Way to go, Chuck! This will be the proof of the pudding, actually…I seriously doubt that Chuck would delete his own diary in response to criticism from the Kos community, so if this one gets deleted, it may prove Charles right.
