If true, there’s going to be a far left backlash like we haven’t seen since Kerry conceded. The Kossacks and DU’ers have convinced themselves that Edwards will stay in until the convention (largely because, well, Edwards has insisted that he would), in order to “give them a voice”. If he drops out after promising them he wouldn’t, he’s going to be lefty anathema for the rest of his life.
Update II: There was speculation that if he dropped out, Edwards would be supporting Obama immediately. Not so fast, says the AP:
The former North Carolina senator will not immediately endorse either candidate in what is now a two-person race for the Democratic nomination, said one adviser, who spoke on a condition of anonymity in advance of the announcement.

I don’t understand how he’s gotten the following he has. Maybe it’s just me, but I get eye strain from rolling my eyes every time the guy speaks. He comes off as being so full of it. I’ll miss his hair, though. Something for a balding guy like me to be jealous of. Mitt’s still around for the moment anyways. Least I’ve got his locks to look up to.
