For thee, but not for me

Obama:

“I am looking forward to a debate with John McCain. John McCain is a good man. He’s an American hero. We honor his service to this nation. But he has made some bad choices about the company he keeps.”

(italics mine)

Obama wants voters to judge McCain based on the company he keeps…but it’s terribly bad form to judge Obama by the company he keeps.

OK then.

Update: In the meantime, Michael Barone notes that despite Obama supporting blogs crowing that “The Speech” righted the Wright wrongs (Hehe — say that three times fast), Obama’s unfavorables are markedly higher post Wright.

  1. I can only hope that the public gets word of these inconsistencies in the general election and ignores those who would make excuses for them.

  2. I just laughed so hard, I think some coffee came out of my nose.

Say hi to your pal Rezko for us, Barry!

  3. The racist church was just a cover!

    Fiendishly clever.

  4. twc: Did you note the party affiliation of those surveyed?

23% of white Democrats with an unfavorable opinion of Obama think he’s a Muslim.

Moreover, a third of poll respondents–and a third of Democrats–say they don’t know what religion Barack Obama observes.

Sheesh. Imagine what percentage of Republicans believe it? Add to that the Wright controversy, and little items like this one that keep slipping out, and it looks more and more like the party leadership is smoking Hopium as they carp at Clinton to drop out.
