In my email today:
SSG David Bellavia is running for congress in New York State. Bellavia served in the First Infantry Division for six years. He has been recommended for the Medal of Honor and has been nominated for the Distinguished Service Cross. He wrote a book about his experience in Iraq called “House to House: An Epic Memoir of War”. He also formed the veterans group “Vets for Freedom”.
When SSG Bellavia announced he was running, one Republican leader asked him “What have you done besides shoot people?” Bellavia is up against millionaire businessmen. He is trying to raise money and needs help…… Let’s get the word out and get this hero elected.

My review of Bellavia’s book is here.

Can we get some specifics? The website doesn’t even say what district. Is there a longtime incumbent? Does he even have a chance in the primary? Does he have a staff? Is this seed/startup money or is there an existing budget?
Now I have to choose between his book and Micheal Yon’s book.
according to politics1.com he is running in NY 26. I think it’s very marginally a republican district, though the retiring incumbent (Tom Reynolds) held on by a hair in 2006. He’ll definitely need some dough as the same dem is running again and is pretty wealthy.

Is he a Republican or DHIMMIcRAT?
“What have you done besides shoot people?” This is the type of ‘Country Club’ thinking that decimated the Republican Party in Illinois and led to the election of the (possibly psychopathic) Rod Blagojevich. Republican Party ‘elders’ really, really need a clue.
He is running as a Republican in the 26th district. It is an open seat, formerly held by a Republican, in what appears to be a competitive district.
This is fairly good news — I wish Bellavia luck and lots of free media attention.
Can he get a meeting with McCain? /media foto-op/
Is he moderate-conservative socially? Pro-life or pro-abortion … or pro-Overturn Roe and allow Red & Blue states to decide differently?
Taxes? Gov’t Spending?
I also wish for Victory for Freedom in Iraq.
The seat is being vacated by a retiring Republican (reynolds?) – so he should have a good shot.
That “Republican leader” ’s comment typifies much of the Republican party in NY State. They are happy to be a permanent minority party. The have long term deals in place with Shelly Silver and they don’t want to rock the boat. They have conceded the war of ideas in New York and demoralized people, both upstate and even in (believe it or not) NYC, who want Reagan Republicans, not Lindsay style country club Republicans. With Bellavia running there is hope. Hopefully he is a man of ideas rather than backroom deals.

Get both of them. You will not regret it.
Although phrased rather coarsely, the question of what he has done besides serve in Iraq is a valid one.

What the hell is the deal with all of these posts? I’ve deleted several over the last 2 days.
Was there a hex-speak conference I wasn’t informed of, or what?
“Was there a hex-speak conference I wasn’t informed of, or what?”
Lol!
What happened in the election? Did he win?
